Department of Work and Pensions
- Web address: Sorry, internal website only
- Client: The Department of Work and Pensions is a UK Government organisation which is responsible for many public services including, the Job Centre, the Pension service, the Health and Safety Commission and the Child Support Agency.
- Purpose of website: The website presented and administered a questionnaire designed to evaluate members of staff and their personal development needs. The website was for this reason only accessible internally to the staff. Those candidates who took the questionnaire were to have their scores calculated automatically and compared to the other candidates. The system sends an email to the candidate which includes a PDF file of their results and advice as to how to proceed.
- Period worked on the website: 3 months, over 2 versions
- This site was built by the staff of Artumi Systems when working for another company, Zedcore Systems Limited
The most specialised part of the website is to do with the automatic scoring of the tests and comparing those scores to the other candidates of the test. Then the PDF produced is automatically sent to the email address that the candidate provided. It has been used by more than 700 employees and was tested by the DWP Accessibility testing staff, who found no problems with the site, even at the first test.
The site is built with PHP, PostgreSQL on top of the Apache server. The site is hosted on Linux.
